What does an integrated brand project include, and when is a single design enough?

What does an integrated brand project include, and when is a single design enough?

Choose scope from the actual business problem, then connect differentiation strategy, visual direction and reusable sales content.

Two proposals both call themselves a complete brand project. One lists many applications; the other begins with interviews, strategy and content. The business has a specific problem: sales rewrites its introduction each time, and customers still ask what it does best after reading the brochure. The number of deliverables alone does not resolve that choice.

Start by asking how many parts of the work the problem affects. Unclear advantages, inconsistent team explanations and disconnected materials may need joint organisation. If the audience, reason to choose and visual direction are already clear, but a catalogue or poster is hard to use, address that design first. Let the problem determine the scope.

How the three parts connect

Agencies can define a complete brand project differently. ZHAMORE's differentiated brand service connects brand differentiation strategy, brand visual direction and a reusable sales content master delivered as a document and PDF.

Strategy first establishes whom the business serves, which problem it solves, why customers should consider it and what facts support the explanation. It sets a shared focus for copy and design.

Visual direction makes that focus recognisable and reusable. The current service includes logo design or refinement, 18 basic VI guidelines and 15 agreed brand touchpoint applications chosen according to actual need. Select touchpoints by where the team uses them, rather than by the richness of presentation images.

The sales content master organises concerns, reasons to choose and trust evidence into a complete reading sequence, delivered as a 20–28-page document and PDF. Sales introductions, channel conversations and later content can draw from it rather than assembling a different company explanation each time.

All three address the same relationship: what the business can actually do, why the customer cares and how to make it visible and understandable. If strategy emphasises a product capability, design highlights unrelated decoration and the brochure has no supporting explanation, a complete list still does not create a coherent expression.

Judge the materials already in use

Place the company introduction, product material and sales opening together. Ask someone unfamiliar with the business what it does, whom it mainly suits and which point deserves further investigation.

If the answer is unclear, identify the cause. This table uses hypothetical examples that can be replaced with actual observations.

ObservationWhat to check nextFirst action
Three materials describe different main businessesWhether the priority business and customers are agreedEstablish direction before deciding project scope
Business and value are clear, but model numbers are hard to findWhether model classification and images are completeOrganise the product catalogue
Content is consistent, but the logo is unclear at small sizesWhether a suitable small-size lockup existsImprove recognition and usage rules

This table has no universal score. It distinguishes shared decisions, a specific design and everyday use. Address a problem concentrated in one area first. If several areas depend on one another, assess wider organisation.

Compare two businesses facing the same use

Suppose two companies are preparing for an exhibition and both need a product catalogue.

The first has an agreed audience and product focus, and its visual guidelines remain usable. New models are simply missing. It can confirm categories, complete photographs and specifications, then prepare the catalogue and forwarding version. New positioning and a new logo may not solve the urgent problem.

The second is moving from scattered orders towards channel partnerships. The owner emphasises technology, sales leads on price, and the catalogue gives every product equal prominence. It first needs to understand how channel customers choose and which capabilities support that cooperation. These decisions then determine content, retained visuals and related material.

The deliverable is the same, but the preparation differs. ZHAMORE follows business facts, customer concerns, reasons to choose and evidence before visual and content decisions. Following that relationship makes the required outputs easier to define.

Turn the deliverables list into a use list

When comparing proposals, ask each deliverable to explain who uses it, in which situation and which customer question it answers.

A sales content master should help sales explain the main value and find relevant cases or documents. Basic VI should guide designers and operators in selecting logos, colours and fonts. Applications should correspond to carriers that will actually be used. Clear uses make the list meaningful to compare.

Then consider what follows the initial work. Packaging, websites, ecommerce pages, photography, printing and ongoing operations have separate production tasks. Brand foundations provide direction and content; implementation is determined by the corresponding need. A company with regular launches, events and updates also needs someone to maintain the foundation.

Prepare three things for the first conversation

Gather three main materials currently in use, mark one point that is hardest to explain to customers, and choose a near-term situation in which the result must work. This gives a better basis for assessing cooperation than asking how many items are included.

Decide what needs to change before defining the scope.
